Fano Jazz by The Sea: a sightview on 26° edition

We’re ready. Just a few days before festival’s start, many events and thematic areas are distributed in the usual setting: the city of Fano and, of course, the sea. Just figure for a moment that you can have an overview of the whole Festival. Is there a kind of path that links events and places of the Festival?

Main stage

Here you will find the hot heart beating: the Rocca Malatestiana is where the energy of the Festival stands. The trio of Brad Mehldau, the Vijay Iyer of Sextet, the band of Stanley Clarke, the quartet of Paolo Fresu and the Dee Dee Bridgewater, Andy Sheppard Quartet, Bill Frisell, GoGo Penguin, Ba Cissoko (on the Golena del Furlo). The thematic stages

At the Pinacoteca San Domenico the Exodus Stage is entrusted for the review The echoes of migration: a sound space dedicated to all the voices lost at sea and which music has the power to evoke. Young Stage at the Rocchetta is instead the house that welcomes young interpreters of contemporary creative music: a precious opportunity to know new formations and new albums.

Villages and collateral activities

Aperitifs, dj-set, yoga, Musical Campus: The Jazz Village Program is full of activities with free admission, almost a Festival inside the Festival. And do not miss this edition surprise, the Cosmic Journey review, in which DJs and musicians are ready to explore dialogues between black music and new technologies.

In front of the Village, in Sala Malatestiana, it is set Narrazioni in Jazz, four stories that are dedicated to the bonds between jazz and writing and analyze the interactions between this musical genre and literature, architecture, cinema and comics.

Beyond the stage

Not just churches and squares, but values ​​and ideas. Not only gigs, but also formation and information. An invisible framework supports the whole Festival.
In our overview then include themes such as environmental sustainability and inclusion, themes that come inside the DNA of Fano Jazz by the Sea, and that guide his management choices: a testimony of how music can go beyond mere entertainment and assume the consistency of a social responsibility.

There are many ways to access the experience of the 26th edition: our Festival expresses the word jazz in a wide range of meanings. However an inexhaustible passion for Music will remain a compass to lead us.
