At the age of just 19, winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk Competition in 2006, the Armenian-born musician was soon catapulted into the music that counted. Even a very demanding producer like Manfred Eicher noticed him and invited him to record for his ECM a couple of albums, Luys / Luso, with a lot of chorus, and Atmospheres, with the scandals Arve Henriksen, Eivind Aarset and Jan Bang . It has just been released, but for the Nonesuch, An Ancient Observer, at the center of the Fano Jazz concert By The Sea.
