Raul Midón

Anfiteatro Rastatt – Fano

29 July 2015 @ 21:15 - 23:00

Raul Midón

Raul Midón, vocals, guitar, piano, percussion

A one-man band that transforms “his guitar into an orchestra and his voice into a choir”: this is how the New York Times presents Raul Midón, singer, guitarist and author among the most original of the international art scene. Mexico, blind by birth, Raul Midón has collaborated with jazz and black music in general such as Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder, participating in recordings of albums by Jason Mraz, Queen Latifah and Snoop Dogg, as well as the soundtrack of the film She Hate Me by Spike Lee, has released seven albums to his name, and his music is inspired by Donny Hathaway and Richie Havens, as well as by Sting and Paul Simon, but his musicality makes him – as he wrote the Huffington Post – “a free man from every category.” When he was young, someone told him that blindness meant not being able to do many things: with his voice and his guitar Raul Midón managed to break down this and many others stereotypes.
