Marius Neset, tenor and soprano saxophone – Ivo Neame, piano – Jim Hart, vibraphone, marimba – Petter Eldh, double bass – Anton Eger, drums
From Norway comes, in national exclusive, one of the new names of the ever thriving Scandinavian and European music scene. Born in 1985, Marius Neset has quickly established himself in recent times, winning the praises of specialized critics: John Fordham of the Guardian describes his style as a saxophonist combination of the power of Michael Brecker and the delicacy of Jan Garbarek. In his music too many inspirational elements are gathered: in Pinball, his most recent album, published by the German ATC Music, a pronounced rhythmic propulsion, also of African-inspired inspiration, is well combined with a natural melodic sense. The best team-mates are pianist Ivo Neame, vibraphonist Jim Hart, double bass player Peter Eldh and drummer Anton Eger, both musicians and listeners.
