XVII edition of the review between Italian and European previews, big international names, young talents and local artists. Fourteen concerts between February and June
Jazz in the province, great music returns in the historical theaters of the territory
PESARO – For the seventeenth consecutive year, Jazz ‘in the province, the review of quality music in the historical theaters of the territory, organized by Fano Jazz Network in collaboration with the Department of Culture of Municipalities and Theatrical Institutions such as: Fondazione Teatro della Fortuna of Fano and Municipal Theater Institution of Cagli. The festival, supported by the Mibact (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities) and the Marche Region, is part of the wider regional project of the Jazz Theater Park, which bears the Marche Jazz Network brand, an association that unites Ancona Jazz, Fano Jazz Network , TAM – All other music, and Musicamdo, or the most significant realities of the Region.
Also this XVII edition of Jazz ‘in the province will aim as always on the high value of the artistic proposal, with the presence of great protagonists of the national jazz as: Naked Music, or the duo Petra Magoni and Ferruccio Spinetti, with their new CD; the historical group of Lingomania with Maurizio Giammarco, Roberto Gatto and Giovanni Falzone; the maestro Enrico Intra, in a performance of sounds, singing and scenic actions, a preview that will continue at the Piccolo in Milan; the trio of Bebo Ferra and then Dimitri Grechi Espinosa, Tino Tracanna, Carmine Ioanna and others.
Among the international artists the guitarist Scott Henderson stands out; the Japanese pianist Chihiro Yamanaka (in a premiere of the European tour); the young bassist Kinga Glik, a rising star of Polish jazz, and finally the Mozambican saxophonist Ivan Mazuze.
There will be no lack of formations and important musicians of our territory, like the vibraphonist Marco Pacassoni who will present his latest work “Grazie” and the group led by Paolo Giaro Tango Nuevo Latin Jazz.
The event will also be enriched by the International Jazz Day, the day promoted by UNESCO that will see the extraordinary experience of the young MYO orchestra of Mondaino, which will play for the students of middle and upper secondary schools proposing the project “But what is it? the Jazz “.
Among the collateral activities will be the tasting before and after the concerts: Jazz & Wine Experience, organized by the Wine Experience Association, with local wineries.
During some events (those more decentralized than the coast), such as the Battelli Theater of Macerata Feltria and Piazza San Martino in Apecchio, the Jazz Bus service will be set up in collaboration with Adria Bus, a way to get to the concert safe, in view of sustainable mobility.
A total of 14 events will be on the bill, with 9 theaters involved and 74 musicians involved in concerts.
Among the innovations, in the context of an increasingly broad participation in youth programs, Fano Jazz Network has been active since January 2017 two important promotional proposals; the first is the adhesion to the initiative of the MIBACT 18app, which provides a bonus of 500 euros to those born in 1998, which can also be spent for the shows organized by FJN; the second is the Musician Card, which will be granted free of charge to the young musicians who request it, allowing them to watch for free all the FJN events scheduled.
